At Tech4home we design and build remote controls for TV operators.
You will find our CPE products at NOS in Portugal, Telefónica in Spain, Deutsche Telekom in Germany, SFR in France and many more operators around the world.
Besides remote controls, Tech4home also delivers all kind of libraries and applications to let entertainment devices and cloud-based systems communicate with the remote control. For these system parts we are hiring a Linux and Android application Front-end Developer.
Your challenges:

• Translate our product and design team ideas into the user interface of our Android applications.
• Maintain a perfect user experience.
• Product development in the remote control and home automation space with very high volume.
• Maintain high software quality standards in cost optimized architectures.
• Optional challenge: develop/maintain the UI of our cloud platform.

Your tasks:

• Work closely with our Back-end Developers and system architect.
• Software development in relevant languages like Java or Kotlin for Linux, Android and Android TV in embedded OS environments like STB, smart TV, smart phone, etc.
• Design, implement, modify and test apps (APK).
• Participate in specification collection and system integration with our partners.
• Bug fixing.
• Adhere to internal and industry design rules.
• Software Quality Assurance

Requirements:

• Degree in Computer Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or equivalent level obtained through experience.
• 2 years+ relevant experience (additional experience will be valued).
• Good knowledge of Java and PHP.
• Good knowledge C++ is a plus.
• Experience with Android, AOSP and/or Android TV.
• Experience with Android apps development and all the tools you need for that.
• Experience with cloud product development (HTML5 and database tool).
• Knowledge of an embedded Linux environment is a must.
• Experience with Apple apps development.
• Able to work autonomously and also in a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
• English B2 minimum.
