We are seeking a highly skilled and hands-on Senior Performance Engineer to join our Performance and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team. Our team is responsible for ensuring the high performance, scalability, and reliability of our systems and applications, and we are looking for an experienced engineer to lead these initiatives. As part of a small, dynamic team of five—including two Dev Ops engineers, two performance testers, and a performance analyst—you will play a critical role in optimizing software performance and developing in-house tools.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in performance testing and development, capable of designing and executing performance testing frameworks, scripting automated tests, and contributing to the enhancement of our custom tooling, ASIACQ (Configuration Excellence). Given the nature of the role, project management skills are highly desirable, as the position requires a high degree of autonomy and self-direction to manage multiple initiatives effectively.

Join the S&A Engineer QA subdepartment as a Senior Performance Engineer, and this is some of what you'll be doing:

• Design, develop, and execute performance test scripts to identify performance bottlenecks and optimize system performance.
• Analyse test results and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks, areas for optimization, and opportunities for improvement.
• Bring visibility to performance metrics and understand their effects on customers.
• Collaborate with development, QA, and operations teams to implement performance enhancements and ensure the scalability and reliability of our applications.
• Leverage your development background (Java, Python, or similar) to contribute to team tooling and infrastructure.
• Communicate performance testing outcomes, system optimizations, and potential risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing and quality assurance processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Identify project risks, potential bottlenecks, and mitigation strategies to ensure performance goals are met.

We're looking for:

• 6+ years of experience in performance engineering with a strong emphasis on performance testing, analysis, and optimization.
• Proficiency in scripting and executing performance tests using tools such as JMeter, Load Runner, or similar.
• Experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Grafana, Datadog, and Prometheus, as well as familiarity with container technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in at least one programming or scripting language commonly used in performance testing, such as Java, Python, Perl, or .NET.
• Experience with database management and querying, including SQL for relational databases or equivalent query languages for No SQL databases (e.g., Mongo DB, Cassandra).
• A strong understanding of testing methodologies, quality assurance principles, and the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.

What we consider as an advantage:

• Experience in using Gitlab, cloud technologies (such as Azure)
• Front end Developer experience
• Knowledge of test automation and hands-on experience with automation tools.
• Creativity in exploratory testing and problem-solving.
