The position
The Test Development Engineer position is open at HBK Fiber Sensing in Maia, Portugal, a HBK company specialized in the development and production of advanced monitoring systems based on optical Fiber Bragg Grating technology. HBK Fiber Sensing provides integrated solutions and world-leading expertise on Fiber Optic Sensing, with special focus on structural health monitoring.
We are looking for a technology-driven Test Development Engineer professional to work on the design, development and implementation of test systems for fiber Bragg grating based optoelectronic DAQs. You will be joining a highly motivated R&D team in a dynamic and exciting workspace. We believe in teamwork, and we encourage each other to have open discussions and take ownership of our work. The role is based in our HBK Fiber Sensing office and allows freedom under responsibility to structure and plan your daily work. This role can be hybrid remote or onsite.
Professional qualifications
- Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering/Physics Engineering or similar
- Good technical skills in system integration and programming
- Knowledge on C# programming and Lab VIEW software
- Some experience from a similar role is desired
- Knowledge on Instrumentation and Fiber Optic Sensing is a plus

- Excellent problem-solver, with creative and critical thinking
- Positive attitude towards challenges and difficulties
