This position is responsible to oversee the preparation and presentation of high-quality meals for events and corporate functions, ensuring each dish meets exceptional standards of taste, appearance, and dietary requirements. This role demands creativity, organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure to deliver large-scale meal services that meet client specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop diverse menus tailored to event type, client preferences, dietary restrictions, and seasonal availability of ingredients.
- Incorporate both traditional and innovative recipes to offer a variety of options for different palates and occasions.
- Oversee the preparation of all menu items, ensuring they meet company standards for flavor, appearance, and portion size.
- Supervise kitchen staff during food preparation, cooking, and plating, maintaining quality and presentation standards.
- Collaborate with event planners, catering managers, and clients to ensure menu alignment with event themes, timing, and guest requirements.
- Coordinate with service staff to ensure seamless food service during events, adjusting preparations as necessary based on event flow.
- Manage inventory levels of ingredients, kitchen supplies, and equipment, ensuring all items are available and fresh.
- Monitor food costs and portion controls to minimize waste and optimize profitability, maintaining accurate records for budgeting.
- Ensure all food is prepared and stored according to food safety and sanitation standards.
- Conduct regular checks to maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, complying with health regulations and company policies.
- Recruit, train, and supervise kitchen staff, providing ongoing coaching to improve skills and efficiency.
- Foster a positive work environment, encouraging teamwork and accountability among kitchen staff.
- Engage with clients when necessary to gather feedback and address any concerns.
- Adjust recipes, ingredients, or presentation based on client preferences and dietary needs.
- Education: Culinary degree or certification in culinary arts or hospitality management is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Chef, with a background in large-scale catering or event catering.
