QAQC Engineer

What you will do
The QA/QC Engineer is a key role directly reporting to QA/QC Manager and functional reporting to Branch Manager for our Fire Oil & Gas business. You will be based in Qatar and will be part of a growing team, who is focused on project quality planning and management, and produce the highest quality deliverables on time and be responsible for driving the growth of our Fire Oil & Gas business in Qatar.
You will be supporting the project management team to maximize project efficiency, performance and profitability, determine project quality specifications and develop project quality plans, inspection & test plans (ITP) for the project activities, identify project quality assurance & control requirements & responsibilities, carryout quality inspection & tests, supervising subcontract quality control activities and also develop, monitor and control project quality activities to ensure project compliance to agreed quality requirements.
How you will do it
As a QA/QC Engineer you will use your expertise to prepare required QA/QC documents during proposal stage, perform visual inspections at sites for the ongoing works and monitor overall work progress for quality compliance and co-ordinate with client Inspectors for the physical, visual and technical QC inspections. Prepare and review final Dossiers for works carried out on site and coordinate, as required, with the subcontractors and client representatives on matters relating to quality. You will be preparing Project Quality Plans, Inspection & Test Plans (ITP) based on project contractual requirements, client & project quality specifications, project scope of work etc. and submit the PQPs / ITPs to the client seeking approvals where required. You will make sure that applicable method statements & quality control procedures for major activities are prepared in coordination with the respective Project teams. You will also conduct QC inspections of received materials and all in-process works and carry out pre-inspections of completed fabrication & installation works at subcontractor and project sites.
As a QA/QC Engineer you will be responsible to rectify all the snags and observations, if any, raised by client representative during witness inspections and arrange testing & pre-commissioning inspections of the works completed at sites. You will be responsible for attending project progress & quality meetings and also ensure actions for all QAQC items are completed as agreed. You will prepare and maintain logs for NCRs and all the inspections & tests being carried out as per approved ITPs, method statements, quality control procedures etc. You will be responsible for preparing and updating all welding procedures specifications (WPS), procedure qualification records (PQR) and welder qualifications (WQT), as applicable.
As a QA/QC Engineer you are the perfect combination of technical expertise and project quality management perception, in electromechanical aspects in the projects, and will be responsible for managing the quality issues and offering relevant solutions from inception to the finish of projects.

What we look for
Required
- Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering with 5-10 year’s experience as a QA/QC engineer in Oil & Gas Industry
- Candidate with previous Qatar Energy and Qatar Gas exposure will be preferred
- CSWIP 3.1/3.2, B-Gas/NACE Grade 2 and NDT Level-2 Certification are desired.
- Deep knowledge of Construction and Manufacturing Codes and Standards - ASME, ISO, ASTM, IEC
- Should be conversant with MS Office (MS Word, Excel, Power Point)
- Familiar with the applicable quality standards for his area of responsibility with proven records
- Experience in internal auditing of quality management system (ISO 9001:2015) will be an advantage
- Communicates effectively with all levels of organization particularly with the clients
- Able to resolve quality problems / issues independently and with the teams.
