DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• To develop skills of the child in Music, Arts, Science, Mathematics, English etc. as applicable and based on the Individual Education Plans (IEP) prepared for each child.
• To teach children about the world around them using Montessori techniques and tools or other special education teaching methodology and techniques as identified applicable.
• Teach exercises in practical life and develop their sensory skills.
• Be accountable for all teaching aids and materials issued under their care and for their classes.
• Prepare daily teaching plans along with the immediate supervisor, record the progress of each child on a daily basis, and ensure up-to-date filing of all relevant records in appropriate student files.
• Correspond with parents on the progress of each child and suggest techniques for training at home.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING

• Degree holder in Special Education
• Diplomas related to Montessori training and other specialized programs shall be of added value
• Experience in handling children with special needs

EXPERIENCE

• At least three (3) years of experience in a similar work setting

LANGUAGES

• Must be fluent in English. Knowledge of any other language is considered as an asset
