Testing Engineer (Power Cables - LV & MV)
Location: Doha, Qatar
Job Summary:
Weare seeking a highly skilled Testing Engineer specializing in low voltage (LV)
and medium voltage (MV) power cables up to 33k V.
Perform testing, diagnostics, and fault location in LV and MV power cables (up to 33k V).
Conduct sheath verification test on power cables.
Use specialized tools and equipment to identify and rectify faults in power cables.
Perform testing on switchgear, protection relays, and transformers.

Prepare and submit detailed reports on testing outcomes, faults, and recommendations.

Adhere to industry standards and best practices for testing procedures and safety.

Collaborate with project managers, site engineers, and clients to provide testing solutions.
·
Maintain and calibrate testing equipment regularly.

Ensure that testing documentation is complete, accurate, and complies with all regulatory standards.
Qualifications and Skills:
Minimum of 6 years of experience in testing LV and MV cables (up to 33k V).
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Experience in sheath verification tests and cable fault location.
Knowledge and experience in testing switchgear, protection relays, and transformers.
Proficiency in using cable testing and diagnostic equipment (e.g., VLF, TDR, OTDR, etc.).
Strong understanding of electrical testing standards (IEC, IEEE, etc.).
Certifications in relevant electrical safety and testing procedures are preferred.
Previous experience working on high-profile projects in power distribution, utilities, or large industrial installations.
Preferred Certifications:
IOSH/NEBOSH or similar safety certifications.
Certifications in electrical testing (e.g., CIGRE, CIBSE).
