Job Description Summary

As a Statutory Finance Manager covering Romania, this position is responsible for statutory processes, including processing of STAT accounting records, leading the STAT audit, preparation of statutory tax fillings (VAT, VIES, 394, CIT), fulfilling additional local obligatory reports (statistical, NBR) and various tax-compliance tasks, as well as legal entity governance obligations. Reporting to the Grid Central Europe Region Statutory Leader.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Preparation of annual and half year local GAAP financial Statement
• Preparing and posting necessary adjustments, as needed, from US GAAP to local GAAP ensure alignment with local accounting and tax requirements
• Performing month-closing statutory activities and reconciliations based on valid documentation which is compliant with local STAT and TAX legislation & GE internal requirements
• Coordinate internal and external audit works for the unit scope (Internal Audit, Deloitte) and ensure the findings resolution with appropriate owners for both US GAAP and local statutory purposes.
• Reconciling annually the differences between Statutory and US GAAP books (prepare G2S walk)
• Actively participate to the completeness and quality of accounts reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with local stat & GE policies. Facilitate implementations of new rules and new tools impacting finance reporting.
• Manage funding requirements, if needed, to secure the good health of the Equity to be in line with local law
• Provides advice and guidance to commercial team about FX, payment terms, payment instrument related to local GAAP regulations.
• Develop strong relationships with other finance partners and internal customers
• Preparing statistical, NBP, Intrastat and similar reporting
• Ownership and signature of STAT fillings
• Archive the documents to ensure full safeguards around company records
• Prepare or review tax and related returns, proper and timely calculation, submission and settlement of liabilities to the state budget as per tax regulations (VAT, Corporate Income Tax, WHT)
• In charge of SAF-T reporting and e-invoicing
• Provide information on TP files preparation
• Initiate tax and other urgent payments workflows where applicable
• Maintains professional relations with local authorities, support for periodic audits from tax authorities including tax appeals, meetings with tax authorities
• Coordinate issuance of sales invoices accordingly to business requests and reviewing back-up documentation from accounting and tax perspective to ensure compliance with local GAAP, including E-invoicing.
• Coordination of local mailroom for accounts payables and archiving of invoices, mandatory as per local legislation.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or business administration
• At least 8 years of experience in Finance/ Accounting department
• Knowledge of SAP
• Fluent in English and Romanian
• Comfortable working with advanced Excel templates and formula
