With more than 40 years of experience forging multisector partnerships and with expertise in science, economics, technology, advocacy, and dozens of other specialties, PATH develops and scales up innovative solutions to the world’s most pressing heath challenges.
PATH has been expanding in Saudi Arabia, catering to various public health initiatives in thematic areas such as communicable diseases such as Tuberculosis/HIV, neglected tropical diseases and non-communicable diseases, family health and nutrition. PATH seeks to foster partnerships in Saudi Arabia to contribute towards public health goals of the country through its health innovations.
The primary role of the consultant is to identify areas of synergy in the public health ecosystem by engaging with various stakeholders in these countries – Government, partner NGOs and donors and enable partnerships. Other responsibilities include leading business development for PATH in in these countries and providing strategic leadership, advice, and technical support for broadening work area. The consultant will work closely with the Senior Advisor, Middle East and Saudi Arabia and the Partnerships Team in a fast paced, innovative, and global setup. The position requires a expert level understanding of public health ecosystem (government health system, partners and donors) in in these countries.
Responsibilities
1. Strategic Planning

Lead landscaping activities by meeting with key stakeholders in the country.

Gather insights from major stakeholders to inform PATH’s strategy and operations in the country.

Lead strategy, positioning, and business planning.

Establish strategic priorities for focused development of programs working closely with key stakeholders from across the organization.

Ensuring PATH is prepared to respond, adapt, and pivot to new areas of opportunities based on evolving needs, as well as being able to respond to rapidly changing events impacting health equity.

Leading the preparation of technical briefs for PATH for these countries.

suitably adapt the strategy to current scenario in these countries for effective implementation.

Coordinate with the Senior Advisor, Technical leads and the Strategy and Business development teams while working on above responsibilities.
2.Stakeholder Outreach and Positioning

Map major stakeholders to engage in these countries. Stakeholders include, but are not limited to the government, ministry of health, academic institutions of public health, global and national donors in the public health donors, international non-profits, grassroot NGOs and non-profits, and community-based organizations.

Engage (through meetings, calls and focused group sessions, etc.) with stakeholders to identify areas where PATH can contribute high impact interventions.

Map and attend major development sector events/virtual meets and gather relevant insights

Ignite and develop strategic partnerships for further outreach and long-term association with major stakeholders.
3.Organizational Setup

Support PATH Asia, Middle East, and Europe (AMEE) leadership to get registered in the country.

Work with the legal consultants and lead the internal coordination of preparing the registration documents checklist.
4.Business Development

Lead and execute the strategic plan through the implementation of business development strategies

Build awareness of PATH’s accomplishments and capabilities in major stakeholders.

Track and update relevant project, activities of donors and funding opportunities and work with PATH team on proposals for relevant opportunities for PATH.
Required Skills and Experience
-
The candidate should be based out of these countries with 6-8 years of experience of working in the country. Candidates that are not based out of Saudi Arabia but have excellent track record of working in the country may also apply.

Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in sciences, economics, management, public health, anthropology, or related fields. Master’s degree in similar fields will be advantageous but not mandatory. Relevant experience in lieu of advanced degrees could also be considered.

Minimum of 8 years in a technical or leadership role with progressive responsibility in an international environment that combines stakeholder engagement, strategic and managerial leadership, business development, operations and/or program management in a large international and/or corporate organization.

Prior experience in strategy consulting will be desirable.
-
Stakeholder engagement, strategy, program design, operations, and business development experience in the public health ecosystem of these countries with deep understanding and knowledge of the same. In addition, international experience is preferable.

Experience with major donors, INGOs and government in these countries is preferable.

Proven ability to provide strategic direction to achieve results.
-
Demonstrated ability to develop and execute business strategies, achieving goals through market focus, innovative approaches, and entrepreneurial spirit while bearing in mind calculated risks.

Experience in conducting landscaping business development and networking within the public health sector of these countries.
-
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to persuade and influence others.

Fluency in English and Arabic is essential.

Duration: 3 months
