Dell Isilon Storage Engineer

• Strong knowledge of Dell Isilon storage, including configuration and management.
• Proficiency in storage protocols such as SMB, NFS, and networking configurations (including SCIP).
• Experience with ISILON access zones and integrating ISILON with Active Directory and DNS.
• Hands-on experience with troubleshooting storage performance, connectivity issues, and hardware failures.
• Familiarity with data protection, replication (Sync IQ), and disaster recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of Dell ECS (Elastic Cloud Storage) administration is highly desirable

Responsibilities:
Storage Management:
Design, deploy, and maintain Dell Isilon .
Monitor storage systems for performance, capacity, and security issues.
Perform regular backups and data replication tasks to ensure data integrity and availability.
Conduct routine maintenance and updates to storage systems.
Perform necessary routine firmware upgrades and patch management
Performance Optimization:
Analyze and optimize storage performance to meet business requirements.
Implement and manage storage tiering strategies to maximize efficiency and performance.
Troubleshooting and Support:
Provide level 2/3 support for storage-related incidents and problems.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to storage performance, connectivity, and hardware failures.
Collaborate with other IT teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
Capacity Planning:
Monitor storage utilization trends and plan for future capacity requirements.
Develop and maintain storage capacity forecasts and reports.
Security and Compliance:
Implement and enforce storage security policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to data storage.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate documentation of storage configurations, procedures, and policies.
Generate regular reports on storage performance, capacity, and incidents.
Vendor Management:
Liaise with Dell and other vendors for support, maintenance, and procurement.
Evaluate and recommend new storage technologies and solutions.
Qualifications
Proven experience as a Storage Administrator with a focus on Dell Isilon .
Experience with storage area networks (SAN) and network-attached storage (NAS) environments.
Skills:
Strong understanding of storage concepts, including RAID, deduplication, and thin provisioning.
Proficiency in configuring and managing Dell Isilon .
Knowledge of data protection technologies such as snapshots, Sync IQ replication, and backup/recovery.
Familiarity with storage management tools and software.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Added Skills required:-
Superna ISILON Integration Experience and skill sets on Data Auditing and Disaster recovery are necessary .
DELL ECS ( Elastic cloud Storage ) Administration experience is necessary .
Certifications:
Relevant certifications (e.g., Dell EMC Proven Professional) are a plus.
