The Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Design Director to join an international project management consultancy based on NEOM in Saudi Arabia. This role is pivotal in shaping the design of a key component of NEOM and ensuring the successful execution of projects that meet client expectations and align with the brand values. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of design principles, exceptional leadership skills, and a passion for pushing the boundaries of creativity. Located in NEOM, this position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a once in a lifetime project. Responsibilities: - Lead and inspire the design team to create innovative and functional designs that exceed client expectations. - Manage external consultants throughout the design process, ensuring the highest level of standards - Develop and implement a comprehensive design strategy that aligns with the company’s goals and vision. - Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to understand project requirements and ensure design feasibility. - Oversee all phases of the design process, from initial concept development to final execution, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines. - Mentor junior designers, providing guidance and support to foster their professional growth and enhance team performance. - Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback to promote continuous improvement within the team. - Prepare and present design proposals to the client, articulating design concepts and strategies clearly and persuasively. - Cultivate strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and translating them into impactful design solutions.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Architecture, or a related field. - A minimum of 25 years of experience in a design leadership role - Middle East mega project experience, preferably inside KSA - Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale design projects from concept to completion. - Strong portfolio showcasing a variety of design styles and successful project outcomes. - Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with clients and stakeholders at all levels. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to quality. - Proficiency in design software such as Auto CAD, Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch Up, and other relevant tools. - Knowledge of sustainable design practices and awareness of current trends in the design industry. - Fluency in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
