The British International School of Jeddah (BISJ) is seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Mathematics and Teacher to join our Secondary Section. This dual role offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic international school that offers the IB Diploma Programme and IGCSE. As Head of Mathematics, you will lead a collaborative and motivated team, promoting high standards in teaching and learning while ensuring the curriculum meets the needs of all students. In the classroom, you will deliver high-quality Mathematics education, fostering a positive and engaging environment that supports students’ academic and personal growth. A strong background in teaching IB Diploma or A-Level Mathematics is essential, with opportunities to further inspire students through leading an extracurricular club aligned with the school’s mission and promoting engagement beyond the classroom.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide leadership within the department, creating a cohesive and collaborative team to promote effective teaching.
Oversee the development and accessibility of the curriculum, ensuring it meets diverse student needs and aligns with the school’s mission.
Conduct regular monitoring of teaching practices, including formal observations each semester, to uphold high-quality learning standards.
Organise annual curriculum reviews, moderate assessments, and manage resources, ensuring alignment with departmental goals and school policies.
Support ongoing professional development for department members and facilitate the induction of new staff and students.
Convene and lead department meetings, communicating important updates and minutes to senior management.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related subject area.
Teaching qualification or certification.
Proven experience in teaching and curriculum development, with prior leadership experience in a secondary school setting.
Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster collaboration and drive departmental success.
Commitment to continuous improvement, professional growth, and alignment with school policies and values.
Ability to foster positive relationships and act as a role model for students.
