The project:
Mace has been appointed to partner on a new portfolio of work focusing on the events industry in KSA. Our client intend to build cutting-edge venues to host world-class events in the culture, entertainment and sports sectors.
Mace PMC is building up a team in support of the demands for the project and programme of works within our scope and require a senior design manager to form part of the Mace project team.
This is a full-time onsite position in the client’s office and eventually migrating to the site offices once these are established.

• Act as the day to day operational manager for any design managers or other design management resource deployed to projects.
• You will be responsible for leading the delivery of design management to deliver key strategic outcomes and sub-function KPIs, directly influencing strategic development.
• You will be the main point of contact for client design issues, ensuring relationships are managed and maintained.
• Develops delegated elements of annual business plan outcomes to deadlines and budget.
• Directs and manages design resource for project/s.
• Manages daily operations for project/s design resource /managers.
• Supervise and presents management review data/key performance indicators (KPIs) to project and sub-function leadership.
• Supports business development and work winning activities.
• Directs the identification, development, and delivery of relevant training.
• Ensure management system is followed and whole project roles and responsibilities are adhered to.
• Acts as focal point for design related matters on project/s.
• Recommends and initiates change to project delivery plans, develops new design management tools and operating processes.
• Supports and influences procurement routes, contractual and legal aspects of project/s.
• Contributes to the promotion of technical excellence, support dialogue/communication.
• Collaborates project management office (PMO) teams (as required) ensuring coordinated deliverables.
• Actively seeks out knowledge and experience through company reach back.
• Actively seeks understanding and utilise the centre of excellence (Co E) knowledge base.
• Works collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll need to have:

• Degree or equivalent with professional work experience in one or more specific disciplines in the programme, project or commercial management disciplines.
• Membership of either APM, RICS, CIOB, or equivalent demonstrable professional and/or personal development.
• Necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and have relevant work experience working on high valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which are required for immigration and client approval.
• Good knowledge and application of design management. systems, design risk management and mitigation.
• Excellent knowledge of prefabrication/build strategies.
• Extensive multiple sectors experience delivering different building types.
• Display good negotiation skills to support the client/customer focus.
• Good knowledge of all design disciplines.
• Exposure to risk and opportunity through design management processes.
• Good knowledge of the construction and consultancy industries.
• Building safety legislation, building standards, construction contracts, professional appointments and health and safety legislation.

You’ll will also have:

• Extensive experience in the successful delivery phase of projects and programmes.
• Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
• Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
