Position Summary:
The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) or Deputy Chief Compliance Officer for B Capital will lead the compliance group at the Firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for (1) supporting B Capital’s registration as a registered investment adviser, (2) further developing B Capital’s compliance infrastructure, (3) managing and implementing all aspects of B Capital's compliance program, (4) managing internal compliance professionals and third party compliance analysts, and (5) supporting B Capital’s legal and operations team on strategic firm initiatives. This role will report to and work closely with B Capital’s Chief Legal Officer.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Compliance Program Development:

• Continuing to prepare and develop the firm’s compliance infrastructure in preparation of registering as an RIA, including policies, procedures, technology usage, monitoring, testing, and reporting.
• Continuing to develop the firm’s compliance infrastructure in connection with regulatory requirements in Singapore, the Cayman Islands, and other jurisdictions.

Compliance Program Management:

• Managing and implementing all aspects of B Capital’s global compliance program, including an internal compliance team and third party compliance analysts.
• Assessing and responding to time-sensitive compliance-related inquiries from the senior leadership team, the legal and compliance team, the investor relations team, the operations team, and the investment team.
• Preparing regulatory filings, including responses to regulatory inquiries and regulatory requests related to portfolio companies and the firm’s global fund platforms.
• Advising on new product development and reviewing IR, advertising, marketing and limited partner communications as well as other externally distributed printed collateral for compliance purposes.
• Managing and administering all employee-facing compliance matters, including compliance training programs, gifts and entertainment, personal trading and account monitoring, code of ethics, anti-corruption, e-communications, outside business and investment activities, political contributions and information barriers.
• Managing all investment and trading compliance, including fund LPA and side letter compliance, fee and expense reporting, affiliated transactions, best execution obligations, conflicts of interest, valuation reporting, expert network, and competitive activities.
• Advising on governance, financial compliance and compliance with global privacy regulations.

Risk Management:

• Providing input and advice on firm-wide risk assessment, risk mitigation, and risk management
• Proactively identifying potential legal, regulatory or reputational risk to the firm.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

• 8+ years of relevant legal and regulatory compliance experience, either at a law firm or in-house at a registered investment adviser, preferably in the private equity or venture industry;
• Excellent knowledge of rules and regulations applicable to venture fund exempt reporting advisers and private equity registered investment advisers;
• Experience preparing a variety of SEC and international regulatory filings and reports;
• Experience managing regulatory examinations;
• Ability to navigate regulatory and legal ambiguity with strong commercial inclination;
• Ability to work cross-functionally in a nimble and agile manner;
• Experience working for a global fund with Asia presence. Hong Kong or Singapore experience advantageous.
• Proven proactive project management and leadership skills, and good judgment
• Comfort rolling up one’s sleeves and handling responsibilities ranging from administrative to managerial, working independently as well as collaboratively and respectfully with others; and
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and written and verbal communication skills.

The salary range is $280,000 - $320,000 and will be commensurate according to relevant experiences.
Salary range applies to California & New York candidates only. The actual salary may be subject to change.
