The Managing Editor will play a pivotal role in establishing and driving the editorial direction of our new publishing platform. Job Types: Part-time, Contract
Pay: $1,000.00 - $1,300.00 per month

The Managing Editor will play a pivotal role in establishing and driving the editorial direction of our new publishing platform. This senior position requires a dynamic leader with a strong editorial background, particularly in the areas of AI, tech, and digital content. The successful candidate will oversee the creation and curation of high-quality content, ensuring it resonates with our global audience and aligns with our strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Editorial Leadership: Develop and execute the editorial vision for Genius Group’s publishing platform, setting the tone, style, and standards for all content, including news articles, videos, podcasts, and interactive media.
- Team Management: Build, lead, and inspire a diverse editorial team, fostering a collaborative environment that encourages creativity and innovation.
- Content Strategy: Create a robust content strategy that drives engagement, enhances brand visibility, and positions Genius Group as a thought leader in AI and tech news.
- Multimedia Integration: Oversee the production of multimedia content, including videos and podcasts, ensuring seamless integration with written articles and other digital content.
- Quality Control: Ensure all content meets the highest standards of accuracy, relevance, and editorial integrity. Implement editorial guidelines and workflows to maintain consistency and quality across all platforms.
- Audience Engagement: Develop and implement strategies to grow and engage our audience through interactive content such as quizzes, polls, and other digital tools.
- Market Trends & Innovation: Stay ahead of trends in AI, tech, and digital media, continuously innovating to keep the platform at the cutting edge of the industry.
- Collaboration & Partnerships: Work closely with other departments, including marketing, product development, and sales, to align content strategies with overall business goals. Establish and maintain partnerships with key industry players and influencers.
- Analytics & Performance: Utilize data-driven insights to monitor content performance, optimize editorial strategies, and report on key metrics to senior leadership.
- Compliance & Ethics: Uphold the highest standards of journalistic ethics and ensure all content complies with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Experience: Minimum of 8 years in a senior editorial role within a leading news organization, digital media company, or tech-focused publication. Experience in managing large editorial teams and driving content strategy at a regional or global level.
- Expertise in AI & Tech: Strong knowledge and passion for AI, technology, and their impact on society. Proven ability to create compelling content in these areas.
- Leadership & Management: Demonstrated success in leading and managing editorial teams, with a strong track record of fostering talent and driving innovation.
- Multimedia Savvy: Experience in producing and integrating multimedia content, including videos, podcasts, and interactive digital experiences.
- Strategic Vision: Ability to develop and execute a long-term content strategy that aligns with business objectives and resonates with a global audience.
- Analytical Skills: Proficient in using analytics tools to track content performance, understand audience behavior, and inform editorial decisions.
- Communication Skills: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas clearly and engagingly.
- Adaptability: Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Cultural Awareness: Deep understanding of cultural nuances across the APAC region, with the ability to tailor content to diverse audiences.
- Ethics & Compliance: Strong commitment to journalistic ethics and the ability to navigate legal and regulatory requirements in content creation.
