Head of Accounting

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, train, and manage a team of accounting managers overseeing a diverse portfolio of accounting clients.
- Develop and implement structured training programs to address knowledge gaps and keep team members informed about key regulatory updates.
- Recruit high-quality, skilled candidates who will enhance the team's success.
- Ensure the quality of service delivery from team members, including timely and accurate billing, effective client relationship management, and achieving high client satisfaction and retention rates.
- Plan and organize work efficiently, providing effective leadership and guidance to staff to meet service scope and timelines.
- Demonstrate expertise in primary accounting frameworks and financial reporting as regulated by ACRA, with a strong understanding of regulatory requirements for various company structures in Singapore, particularly private limited companies.
- Gain a thorough understanding of client operations, processes, and business objectives, applying this knowledge to engagements.
- Offer guidance to team members for complex client requests, ensuring issues are resolved effectively and appropriately.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to achieve strategic goals, including building a knowledgeable team, automating processes, establishing robust workflows, enhancing customer service, ensuring accurate filings, meeting compliance deadlines, and improving profit margins.
- Ensure that you and your team execute tasks efficiently and effectively while contributing to continuous process and knowledge improvements.
- Uphold the highest professional standards and maintain strict client confidentiality.
- Recognized degree in Accountancy or a related field.
- Professional certification (preferably ACCA, CPA, or CA) and a member of ISCA.
- More than 8 years of experience in client-facing roles, handling complex accounting matters, including commercial and/or audit experience.
- A proven track record of over 3 years in a leadership role within a fast-paced, technology-driven environment.
- Strong understanding of Singapore regulatory compliance.
- Proficient in Google Workspace and Microsoft applications.
- Resourceful, with experience using various productivity software to enhance daily operations.
- Self-motivated, positive, proactive, highly organized, and detail-oriented.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to adapt to a VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) environment and contribute to process improvement initiatives.
- Capable of meeting tight deadlines.
