Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and highly analytical Indian Equity Analyst to join our client's dynamic investment team. The successful candidate will be responsible for generating quality investment ideas, tracking portfolio companies, and supporting the Portfolio Manager in managing the equity portfolio. In addition to handling equity investments, this role includes assisting with fixed income trading during the absence of the Fixed Income Portfolio Manager.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for generating quality investment ideas, tracking portfolio companies, and supporting the Portfolio Manager in managing the equity portfolio. In addition to handling equity investments, this role includes assisting with fixed income trading during the absence of the Fixed Income Portfolio Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze and recommend companies for investment across assigned sectors, as well as other relevant investable opportunities.
- Conduct comprehensive research and prepare investment notes on companies and industries, continuously tracking performance and developments.
- Evaluate company positioning, business potential, and risks to support buy/sell decisions and the generation of investment ideas.
- Identify businesses with potential for re-rating and deliver investment insights that align with the company's investment philosophy.
- Assist the Portfolio Manager in managing portfolios and make independent portfolio decisions in their absence, adhering to investment policies.
- Execute daily equity trades and assist with fixed income trading when required.
- Prepare regular investor reports, including monthly, quarterly, and ad-hoc materials for various funds.
- Develop internal presentations for fund discussions and respond to investor queries related to the portfolio or macroeconomic conditions.
- Support the portfolio team by ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal policies at all times.
- Strong conceptual clarity and understanding of market dynamics.
- Highly motivated, dynamic, and eager to succeed.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly.
- Team player with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
- Expertise in mid-cap or stock-specific analysis.
- Strong understanding of equity investment processes, capital markets, and sector-specific analysis.
- Ability to identify high-potential investment opportunities, supported by thorough research and analysis.
- Proficiency in preparing detailed research reports and presentations.
- Familiarity with high-value financial information tools such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, and other industry resources.
- Basic knowledge of trading systems and portfolio allocation strategies.
- Ability to meet MAS licensing requirements for regulated Fund Management activities.
- CA / MBA or Post-Graduate Degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in analyzing Indian equities, with a proven track record in investment analysis. Strong quantitative and analytical skills, with a deep understanding of equity markets and trading systems.
