Legal Specialist (Malaysia)

The Legal Department of Tokyo Electron Singapore Pte. Ltd. is looking to hire a Malaysia-qualified lawyer to join the team. This position is based in Singapore, providing support for our Malaysia subsidiary and its operations. The successful candidate will report directly to the Director of the Legal Department, also based in Singapore.
The successful candidate will be expected to:
- Assist in legal matters that arise from time to time in relation to our Malaysia subsidiary, including with the assistance of external counsel as may be appropriate
- Assist in the preparation of company policies and training materials for the Malaysia subsidiary
- Update management on various compliance matters from time to time in relation to the Malaysia subsidiary, under the guidance of the Director of the Legal Department
- Engage in enterprise risk management activities, in addition to legal and compliance related risk management, in relation to the Malaysia subsidiary
- Carry out corporate secretarial work, in relation to the Malaysia subsidiary, by liasing with external counsel on such matters
- Staying up to date with relevant regulatory changes for Malaysia
- Assist with any other tasks that the Legal Department may need to undertake
- Degree in Law from a recognised university is preferred
- Admission to the Malaysia Bar is a requirement
- At least 3 years of post-qualification experience working for law firm/in-house legal department
- Good understanding of corporate law and contract law, while at the same time able to provide commercially-sound advice
- Strong communication and good interpersonal skills
- A meticulous, organized and resourceful team player
- A highly motivated individual who works independently with little supervision
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday
- Bachelor's or equivalent (Required)
- Malaysia Legal: 3 years (Required)
- Admission to the Malaysia Bar (Required)
