Regional Data Privacy Officer – Asia (VP Level)

As the Regional Data Privacy Officer for Asia, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with local data privacy laws and alignment with group-wide policies. In this VP-level position, you will be responsible for establishing, implementing, and monitoring data privacy practices and policies, acting as the primary contact for privacy-related matters in Asia.


Key Accountabilities:

• Ensure that company policies comply with local data privacy laws and group policies.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for data privacy issues.
• Develop and update data privacy policies, guidelines, and procedures, consulting with relevant stakeholders.
• Lead and/or participate in responses to data privacy incidents.
• Conduct data privacy self-assessments to identify gaps and implement remediation actions.
• Oversee the data privacy impact lifecycle, including cross-border data transfers.
• Design and implement training programs for staff involved in data handling and processing.
Foster a culture of data privacy and compliance across the organization.

Experience & Qualifications:

• 8-10 years of experience in data privacy and protection, specifically within financial services.
• Proven experience operationalizing data privacy initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of local data privacy laws across multiple jurisdictions, such as PDPA, PDPL, PIPL, and Personal Data Ordinance.
• Background in legal, audit, or risk management is a plus.
• Professional certification in data privacy (e.g., CIPP/A/E, CIPM, CIPT) is preferred.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a strong attention to detail.
