Job Description

A Research Assistant position is available immediately in the Li-Ren Kong and Sanjay De Mel research team. The position is funded by a thematic grant under NUS Centre for Cancer Research (N2CR) to investigate the key drivers in multiple myeloma, with the eventual goal to develop a ex vivo screening model for drug development.

Duties & Responsibilities

Research:

Handling and processing clinical samples for genomics and proteomics analyses, including the establishment of long-term culture models for in-depth molecular characterization and functional studies.
Organize and document experimental results systematically.
Analyse data and summarise findings for the research team.

Administrative duties:

Assist with lab housekeeping and administrative duties as needed.
To maintain the N2CR Avatar portal, including registering & updating new entries and keeping track of the usage of the portal.
To assist with administrative or ad hoc duties under the N2CR organoid interest group.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in molecular biology or cancer biology.
Knowledge in cell culture and basic molecular biology techniques.
Effective communication and presentation skills, with ability to work independently.
Prior experience on handling human patient material or organoid culture is preferred.
Experience in laboratory management is preferred but not essential.
Ability to communicate fluently in written and spoken English
