Care Corner Singapore Ltd was founded in 1981, in a climate of changes in the early 1980s, as economic competition in the region intensified and the rift between the wealthy and the lower-income in particular the Chinese blue-collar workers, widened. Rev Tan Tien Ser and a group of passionate individuals believed that these marginalised people with lower income and little opportunities for a formal education could be helped to realise their potential and become more competent and fulfilled persons. Through a series of early outreach initiatives, Care Corner has evolved into an organisation offering a wide range of programmes and services delivered through various social service centres located island-wide. In a bid to stay relevant to the needs of the community, Care Corner has continuously strived to offer new and innovative programmes to support those in need and the less privileged.
Job Description
Care Corner Learning and Special Needs Support is looking to expand our focus from just educational therapy to providing wholistic support for children with learning and special needs. We are seeking a Specialist with a passion to support children with learning and special needs. This individual would ideally have experience teaching children individually or in small group sizes, open to working from different locations and keen to teach children in our own Intervention Programme.
Roles & Responsibilities:
There are two levels - Specialist and Senior Specialist, relevant experience will be aligned to right role level.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Plan and teach English and Math to children (age 5 to 12) with learning difficulties/disabilities.
- Plan and conduct individual and group intervention programmes/activites for children with special needs.
- Assess the developmental needs of children, doing up each child's Individual Educational Programme (IEP) and Progress Report (PR) to address the needs of the children in the assigned classes.
- Engage parents in executing intervention and development strategies for the children.
- Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood/ Pre-School Teaching/ Early Years/ Special Education, Learning Disorders Management or any other related fields.
- Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) will be preferred.
- Experience in specialised intervention methods with children will be an added advantage (e.g. OG, Jolly Phonics, visual processing training, rhythmic movement training).
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Entry level candidates and candidates without the relevant experience are welcome to apply if you have a passion to work with children with special needs.

Qualifications
- Minimum Diploma in Early Childhood/ Pre-School Teaching/ Early Years/ Special Education, Learning Disorders Management or any other related fields
- Advanced Diploma in Early Childhood Intervention (Special Needs) will be preferred
- Experience having taught subjects such as English and Maths to Primary level students will be preferred or teaching Phonics to younger children maybe considered with Allied education background to cater to the classroom requirement
