We are looking for a passionate and professional Trader to join our Trading Operations team.
Based in Singapore and reporting into the Deputy Director, Trading Operations, the incumbent will assist to manage the Company's sports betting books to minimize the company's risk exposure and maximizing the book's profit.

Singapore Pools was established by the Government on 23 May 1968 to provide safe and trusted betting to counter illegal gambling. As a not-for-profit organisation, all of Singapore Pools' surplus is channeled to Tote Board to fund a wide range of causes in social service, community development, sports, the arts, education and health. Currently, Singapore Pools contributes about $2 billion annually to the Government in the form of taxes and duties, and for the funding of good causes.

What You'll Do
- You will interpret the latest sporting news & relevant information and make recommendations to access the teams' strengths, weaknesses, recent form, morale, formation & probable starting line-up.
- You will interpret the latest sporting information, competitors' odds, betting trends and make recommendations to manage betting activities.
- You will assign and manage betting of sports events in a timely and accurate manner.
- You will ensure overall collections and GGR within prevailing approved risk parameters.
- You will ensure the compliance of processes to stay up to date with corporate policies, risk limits, operating guidelines and regulatory and statutory limits.
- You will ensure abilities of the books offered and react accordingly to any extraordinary market movements to achieve balanced books.
- You will ensure correct usage of applications and tools during trading operations.
- You will assist in the development of algorithmic trading models and quantitative methods to execute trades.
- You will implement strategies on the quantum of odds change to influence betting behaviours to achieve balanced books.
- You will manage a team of traders and resolve escalated conflicts during scheduled shift to monitor and study betting trends.
- You will implement strategies to improve sales and profit margin.
- You will implement guidelines to ensure Processes and System Integrity are in place.
- You will conduct feasibility study on the proposed enhancements to the trading operations/services and present ideas to management to improve the department's overall capabilities.
- You will assess and profile Account members through their betting history, profitability and behaviour to establish customers' risk profiles and betting pattern.
- You will trade and manage risks in accordance with profiling results to better manage the betting behaviours of these customers and to handle their bets better.
- You will analyse performance of our sports betting product against budgets and targets, work closely with SB Product to review, develop and propose new products to meet consumer demand and attract new customers to identify areas for improvement to remain competitive and maximise profits.
- You will lead team discussions to finalise decisions on business development pursuits.
Who You Are
- You have a degree preferably with a strong background in mathematics or statistics.
- You should have a minimum of 3-6 years of related experience in sports trading and odds compilation experience.
- You should have experience in managing a small team.
- You should possess in-depth knowledge in football and other popular sports on offer.
- You should be highly numerate and have an astute ability to identify and link relevant information and their implications to the outcomes of sporting events.
- You should possess knowledge of fixed odds market and the principle involved in pricing and trading sports events.
- You possess strong analytical and problem-solving ability and experience to provide insights into trading, experienced in reporting tools to provide insights into trading.
- You should be a strong team player with good inter-personal, communication skills, meticulous, multitasker, and able to work under pressure.
- You should be able to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends and public holidays.
- You should be adept in using the PC and the related betting applications.
- Knowledge of a foreign language is an added advantage but not mandatory.
