Underwriting Team Assistant

We are looking to recruit a motivated and structured candidate interested in providing excellent administrative support to our Underwriters, members, and brokers. Our team in Singapore is responsible for the Club's business in Asia, except from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The role entails close cooperation with our underwriters, who are responsible for acquiring new business, maintaining existing business, and assessing risk.
Some of the work tasks include:
We believe you have post-high school insurance, business administration, shipping or similar education. This role would be suited to candidates who have previous working experience with underwriting administration, brokering or any other relevant insurance role. Having experience in the marine insurance field is an advantage. As the position involves frequent contact with members, brokers, and colleagues in several countries, it is vital that you can express yourself accurately in English, both verbally and in writing. An eye for detail and a good understanding of numbers are required for this position, and so is a good command of Excel. We look for a structured, meticulous, and motivated candidate who is happy to assist wherever a helping hand is needed.

- Handling underwriting matters for existing accounts and assisting in new business
- Preparing renewals of relevant covers
- Supervising and issuing various types of insurance documents
- Filing and updating insurance conditions and clauses
- Handling day-to-day policy issues as required
- Handling Premiums
- Maintaining contacts with brokers, members, industry organisations and mortgagees.
