Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Compliance Officer to join our organisation’s South African office in Johannesburg. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial compliance, possess the necessary certifications, and be well-versed in financial regulations and compliance practices. This role is critical in ensuring that our operations comply with all local and international regulations, safeguarding the integrity and reputation of our business.
Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the company's operations comply with all relevant financial regulations, including the South African Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA) and other applicable international regulatory bodies.
• Monitor and interpret new and existing regulations, providing guidance to the business on compliance requirements.
• Develop, implement, and maintain internal compliance policies and procedures.
• Conduct regular reviews and updates of compliance policies to ensure they reflect the latest regulatory changes and best practices.
• Identify and assess potential compliance risks within the organization.
• Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize exposure to regulatory penalties and reputational damage.
• Coordinate and oversee internal and external compliance audits.
• Prepare and submit compliance reports to management and regulatory authorities as required.
• Maintain accurate records of all compliance-related activities and documentation.
• Conduct regular compliance training sessions for employees to ensure awareness and understanding of regulatory obligations.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff on compliance-related matters.
• Investigate any reported or suspected violations of compliance policies and regulations.
• Take appropriate corrective actions, including reporting violations to the relevant authorities if necessary.
• Act as the primary point of contact between the company and regulatory bodies in South Africa.
• Ensure timely and effective communication with regulators, responding to inquiries and providing necessary documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Certification in compliance or equivalent certification is required.
• At least 5 years of experience in financial compliance, within the Forex or financial services industry is preferred not mandatory.
• In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations, including FSCA requirements.
• Strong understanding of international financial compliance standards and practices.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Proficient in compliance management software and tools.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience working with global Forex companies.
• Knowledge of Anti-Money Laundering (AML) regulations and practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with regulators and senior management.
