Fisha Investment Group is currently looking for a Legal Intern to join their team. The successful candidate will provide senior secretarial, administrative and support services to the CEO and perform the following duties:
Contract length: 12 months
Ability to commute/relocate:
Expected Start Date: 2024/09/01
- Perform legal research as needed and legal support
- Assisted in putting together a standard form of a confidentiality agreement
- Observe and participate in client meetings, trials, mediations, and outreach
- Knowledge of Commercial Law and Legal Compliance
- Negotiation and mediation skills
- Knowledge of various legal forums – CCMA & various Courts
- Knowledge of regulatory bodies – POPIA, FIC, CIPC
- Language skills – advanced business English writing
- Providing Legal research, opinion and advice on assigned legal matters
- Liaison with external Law firms or other legal service providers
- Assisting Human Resources with respective Industrial Relation matters
- Assist in preparing board resolutions and file them accordingly
- Undertake any other related duties as may reasonably be required
- General company secretarial experience is essential (e.g. attend to filings at CIPC, maintain share registers, prepare for meetings, draft minutes, etc)
- Exposure to committees and compliance with the Social and Ethics Committee requirements
- Drafting experience is essential (e.g. policies, procedures, committee mandates, agreements, etc)
- Exposure to BBBEE compliance requirements is advantageous
- Knowledge of the Legal Practice Act is advantageous
- Perform Ad hock duties as required by directors
- LLB Degree or equivalent qualification
- Excellent Knowledge of Labour Law
- Good knowledge of the following legislations and regulations within South Africa (Knowledge of European Legislation is a plus).
- Relevant financial legislation, for example, FICA, FAIS.
- Relevant compliance legislation, for example, but not limited to, POPIA, GDPR, OHS, COIDA and B-BBEE
- Work effectively under pressure
- Good understanding of corporate entities and corporate governance
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Computer Literacy
Contract length: 12 months
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Pretoria, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)
- Bachelors (Required)
- Driving license (Required)
