Job Purpose

The Department of Infrastructure, Western Cape Government has opportunities for three (3) suitably qualified and competent Engineers to perform all aspects of varied innovative and complex engineering activities that result in progress in technology and engineering applications.

Minimum Requirements

Engineering Degree B Eng/ BSC (Eng)) or relevant qualification; A minimum of 3 years post qualification engineering experience required; Compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer or have submitted with ECSA for professional registration as a Professional Engineer (proof of payment to be submitted with application is required) Note: Compulsory registration with ECSA as a Professional Engineer must be obtained within 6 months from appointment; A valid code B or higher driving licence.

Recommendation

Experience in the following: Transport infrastructure, road construction and/or maintenance or the asset management processes of transport infrastructure; Various design stages for multidisciplinary Roads projects; Compiling/preparing tender document and the tender process; Supervising technical staff /teams; Data monitoring and analytics of projects in the various phases; Exposure of financial-, human resource-, supply chain-,contract-, management and scope monitoring during construction; Project management and report writing; Willingness to travel when required; Further studies or courses.

Remuneration

Grade A: R 833 499 - R 889 158 per annum; Grade B: R 939 024 - R 1 011597 per annum; Grade C: R 1 068 342 - R 1 254 282 per annum (OSD asprescribed).
Note on remuneration: Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD) are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc. Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees' service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
