Career Opportunity
Reporting to the Group General Manager, The Senior Production Planner will be responsible for the scheduling and timeliness of the production process to ensure that the company meets its customer delivery dates.
Key Responsibilities
1. Creating and monitoring production schedules to ensure that production targets are met in terms of quality, quantity and the agreed time frame.
2. Scheduling and tracking of production orders to ensure delivery capability
3. Creation of an aggregated requirements plan from various customer forecasts to calculate net production requirements.
4. Analysis and optimisation of production capacities, considering machine and personnel resources
5. Collaboration with Purchasing and Logistics to ensure on-time availability of resources
6. Monitoring production processes and adjusting production planning in case of changes in customer demands
7. Close coordination with the production, purchasing, warehouse and sales departments to ensure continuous improvements
8. Identification and implementation of process improvements with the target of increasing efficiency and reducing production costs
9. Ensure optimal stock levels within production and in the finished goods warehouse.
10. Responsible for determining, setting and checking safety stocks in the entire production process including finished goods warehouse
11. Close cooperation with product development to ensure a smooth handover from development to series production
12. Coordination and harmonization of production planning within an international production network to ensure optimal delivery performance.
13. Initiation and management of continuous improvement projects i.e. lean management to increase efficiency or optimise buffer stocks within production.

Requirements
· Grade 12 with a Diploma in Clothing and Textiles Management, or similar, or any Degree which requires an analytical, and logical approach to problem solving.
· More than 10 years professional experience in Production planning for a fast paced manufacturing facility.
· Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
· Sound knowledge of ERP Systems and production planning tools
· Strong communication skill
· Ability to work in a team
· High degree of personal initiative and sense of responsibility
· Sound knowledge and practical experience in the application of lean management principles to optimise production and planning processes.
· Ability to develop and implement innovative solutions for complex production challenges.
· Ability to communicate complex production plans and strategies clearly, both internally to the team, management and external stakeholders.
· Experience in change management activities: You understand how to deal with changes in the production environment and can lead and motivate colleagues through the change process.
· Proficiency in English and Afrikaans
· Understanding of the clothing and textile industry would be an advantage
· Reliable transport
· Be able to work well individually and within a group.
