As part of Derivco’s finance team you will report into our Finance Manager and will be responsible for recording all financial transactions, reconciliations and assisting with payroll for Derivco Spain.
This would include maintaining up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, receivable and banking; preparing monthly payroll information, including all benefits in kind, deductions and additions; ; to prepare and submit monthly VAT return ensuring that the correct inputs have been claimed and all VAT output had been declared, among others duties.

As our Finance Assistant you will have ownership of reviewing and capturing all respective financial data and ensuring data integrity is maintained as well as responsibility for maintaining all ledgers to trail balance.
Our accounting system is Navision so any experience working with this would be a definite advantage!
Job Description:
Key Responsibilities
Finance Management

• Review and capture all respective financial data and ensuring data integrity is maintained.
• Provide documentation and support during internal and external audits, and any other regulatory filings.
• Provide support in user testing, design and implementation of new internal controls, processes, and applications.
• Maintain and verify supplier master data, accounting, and banking applications.
• Maintain up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable and receivable.
• Reconcile bank statements with the company's financial records to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
• Prepare weekly cash flow forecast
• Assist with ensuring all statutory requirements are completed in relation to company accounts
• Drive the accuracy and completeness of payment captures or exports.

Payroll and Employee Benefits

• Maintain employee benefits including Life Insurance, Health Insurance, gym membership etc. in conjunction with HR
• Assist with completing the monthly payroll for all employees
• Manage queries regarding payroll matters from employees as required

General

• Maintain an organised and efficient electronic filing system
• Identifies issues, risks and improvement opportunities related to team processes.
• Identify and recommend opportunities to improve the team’s financial impact on the ground.
• Keep stakeholders informed about progress on the resolution of issues or queries in alignment with delivery standards.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to resolve any payment or invoicing issues.
• Continuously assess own performance, seek timely and clear feedback and request training where appropriate
• Support the Finance Manager as and when required

Technical Skills & Experience
Experience

• 1-2 years in Financial management & accounting experience
• Knowledge of Spanish GAAP Experience of Spanish payroll a plus
• Experience of Spanish Taxes, in particular VAT (M303)
• Company Secretarial and Administration experience
• Knowledge of quality standards, legislation and best practice

Technical Skills

• IT literate with a good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, in particular Excel
• Practical knowledge and experience with accounting packages, ideally Microsoft Dynamics NAV
• Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Economics or a qualification in a related field.
• Full Professional level of English and Spanish

Soft Skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage a varied workload and deal with conflicting demands
• Ability to work effectively and flexibly as part of a team as well as independently
• Accurate data recording, analysis and interpretation
• Attention to detail
