Global Employee Relations Specialist

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Global Head of HR Business Partners, the Global Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for managing and resolving complex employee relations issues across the organisation. This role involves providing expert guidance to HR partners, managers, and leaders while ensuring alignment with company policies and applicable employment laws. The specialist will contribute to the development and design of global ER strategies with the Global Head of HR Business Partners that foster a positive and productive work environment, promoting fairness, diversity, and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Relations Strategy:
- Develop and implement strategies for managing employee relations globally, aligned with the organisation's business objectives.
- Collaborate with HR leadership to design programmes that enhance workplace culture, engagement, and productivity.
- Lead investigations in collaboration with local HR teams into employee complaints, grievances, and disputes, ensuring thorough, timely, and impartial resolution.
- Document and track cases using an ER case management system, maintaining accurate records and reports.
- Provide guidance on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution in compliance with company policies and local employment laws.
- Ensure company practices comply with international employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Monitor changes in global employment laws and regulations, advising the local HR teams on potential impacts and necessary adjustments.
- Develop and deliver training on compliance, ER policies, and best practices to managers and HR teams.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders on employee relations issues, promoting best practices in handling sensitive matters.
- Support the development of local HR teams and leaders through coaching on ER topics, including conflict resolution, communication, and employee engagement.
- Analyse ER metrics and trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and proactive interventions.
- Present insights and recommendations to senior leadership based on data analysis and benchmarking against industry standards.
- Lead or participate in global ER projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the employee experience and creating a positive workplace culture.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to implement ER programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. A master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CIPD, SHRM-CP) is a plus but not essential
Experience:
- Experience in an Employee Relations, HR generalist, or a similar role, with a focus on global or multinational organisations.
- Proven track record of handling complex ER cases, investigations, and conflict resolution in diverse cultural settings.
- Strong knowledge of global employment laws, practices, and regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency in using HR systems and case management tools.
- Data analysis skills to interpret ER trends and metrics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to handle sensitive issues with empathy and confidentiality.
- High level of cultural sensitivity and adaptability when dealing with different countries and regions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, driving projects to completion.
- Strong organisational skills with a focus on attention to detail and managing multiple priorities.
- Experience working in a global matrix organisation.
- Familiarity with change management principles and experience leading initiatives in a dynamic work environment.
- Full professional fluency in English (both spoken and written)
- Additional language skills, other than English, are an advantage.
