Orderly/Receptionist
General Services and Infrastructure Unit
VHIR offers a vacant position for an Orderly/Receptionist to develop tasks within the General Services
and Infrastructure Unit.

Education and qualifications:
Required:
High School Graduate
Desired:
Equivalent to A-levels
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
Minimum 1-year performing customer service and customer-facing tasks.
Ability to perform tasks that require physical effort.
Desired:
Experience working as an orderly in the health sector.
Experience as a receptionist or customer service position.
Experience in filling laboratory sample storage systems in liquid nitrogen.
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Knowledge and experience in maintenance tasks.

Main responsibilities and dutties:
Give support to all VHIR staff in auxiliary tasks as needed (courier, reception, relocations, etc.).
Attending at the reception.
Ensure compliance with VHIR’s internal regulations regarding the operation and safety of its buildings.
o Daily supervision of laboratories and freezers in the different locations. Follow the protocols for action in
case of alarms.
o Control the levels of the liquid nitrogen tanks and carry out periodic refilling.
o Moving objects, especially heavy objects (devices, tables, furniture, relocations, etc.).
o Assist laboratories and common rooms in the installation of new equipment.
o Control of access to VHIR buildings through security lists (entry and exit of authorized personnel)
o Manage internal mail
o Transport samples, documentation and miscellaneous materials between Campus buildings, as
appropriate.
o Assistance with the planning, preparation and distribution of seminars and courses.
o Receive and deliver VHIR’s parcels.
o Registration and reporting of material needs for cleaning personnel or, in general, building maintenance
personnel.
Complete assigned tasks in accordance with established procedures and, if necessary, take part in their update.
Assure that activities are completed in compliance with the requirements established in the Unit’s quality system
procedures, promote and implement continuous improvement in its scope of action.
Labor conditions:
Part-time position: 35h/week.
Morning shift: 14:00 to 21:00 hours (flexible hours will be considered).
Gross annual salary: 16.000 – 20.000 euros.
Contract: Permanent.
