General:
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Spain. The ideal candidate will have some experience in construction and, ideally, with a focus on data centres, renewable energy, and large-scale EPC projects. The candidate will play a support-role to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and/ or Commercial Manager assisting with all commercial elements related to design and build projects.

General:
We are seeking a dynamic and energetic Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Spain. The ideal candidate will have some experience in construction and, ideally, with a focus on data centres, renewable energy, and large-scale EPC projects. The candidate will play a support-role to the Senior Quantity Surveyor and/ or Commercial Manager assisting with all commercial elements related to design and build projects.
Report to:
Commercial Manager/ Senior Quantity Surveyor
Key Responsibilities:
- General quantity surveying (measurements, pricing, register-management, administration & reporting)
- Cost Estimation and Planning (budgeting, tender preparation and assistance with various costing exercises and analysis)
- Contract Administration (document and contract management, variations and ensuring compliance).
- Procurement (creation and monitoring of procurement schedule, negotiations, onboarding, price analysis and maintaining procurement information and controls).
- Revenue management (payment applications, cashflow and opportunity management and pursuit of variations)
- Cost Control and Reporting (project costs and expenditure monitoring, reporting, tracking and managing project budgets, cost-coding)
- Risk Management (identifying potential risks, develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, reporting)
- Project Support (team and project support where needed)
- Stakeholders & general communication (assist with supplier agreement and sub-contractors management, client-liason, clear transfer of project information, meetings, relationship-building).
- Bachelor’s degree in Cost Engineering, Quantity Surveying or a related field.
- Professional registration with RICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors), ASAQS or equivalent preferable, but not necessary.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in quantity surveying/ cost engineering.
- Knowledge of construction and engineering contracts.
- Experience with construction software preferable.
- Energy and a willingness to learn
- Analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of environmental and sustainability issues related to the energy sector.
- Some Spanish language is preferable
- Ability to work independently
- This role may require travel to project sites and client meetings and at times, cross-border travel.
