Secondary Spanish Teacher - maternity cover

We are looking for a temporary Part-time Secondary Spanish Teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning and is excited to join one of the best international schools in an amazing city in Spain.
Some of the tasks, but not limited:
1. Planning, teaching and class management
- To model and deliver outstanding practice in own subject area.
- To have high expectations of all students based on relevant data.
- To support, challenge and stretch students as appropriate.
- To teach using a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning, meeting the demands of the syllabus and the needs of the students.
- To provide or contribute to oral and written assessments, reports and references relating to individual or groups of students.
- To maintain discipline in accordance with the school’s procedures and encourage good practice with regard to punctuality, behaviour and standards of work.
- To assess students’ work in line with school policies and procedures referring to student performance targets.
- To use data, both externally and internally produced, to assess student performance and to develop appropriate courses of action.
- To review methods of teaching on a regular.
- To produce annual reports and mid-term grades for all students taught.
- To participate in the school’s staff development programme.
- To continue personal development in relevant areas especially subject knowledge & teaching methods.
- To engage actively with the school’s performance management programme.
- To act as a form tutor.
- To help with extra-curricular activities as required.
- To work as a member of a team, positively contributing to effective working relations within the school.
- To attend open evenings and parents’ evenings.
- To attend morning assemblies and staff morning briefing unless on duty.
You have either a degree in Spanish (Filología/Estudios Hispánicos) or in a humanities subject with 24 credits related to Lengua and/or literature OR to have taught Lengua in another school for at least 12 months or the CAP or Master’s in Secondary Education or, if trained in England, a PGCE recognised as the Spanish Master’s or the reconocimiento a la profesión.
To actively support and contribute to the school’s responsibility for safeguarding.
