Operations Graduate Program - Logistics Engineer Automation
Gothenburg
FULL TIME
October 25, 2024
During 15 intense and exciting months, our Operations Graduate Program will give you a holistic view of our operational and logistic activities, including both the local and global perspective. You will be working with the technologies of tomorrow, building the products of the future – electric, connected and automated. In parallel, you will grow as a person, through individual and team development sessions.
You will have a permanent position from day one, with a manager and mentor to support you. You will experience several local and international on the job-rotations and work on business-critical projects developing your competencies for tomorrow. You will take a deep dive into some specific areas of our business such as manufacturing, health and safety, quality, and continuous improvements, while also learning about the end-to-end supply chain, aftermarket parts and our remanufacturing operations. In addition, you will gather with other program participants to take part in trainings and events designed to help you grow into your future career at the Volvo Group.
We offer the opportunity for you to be part of our digital transformation, applying new technologies to connect and automate our processes. Together we work with AI, data science, machine learning, circular systems, virtual manufacturing and more, to build our full electric or autonomous products.
If rotational development, a global set up and designing the world of tomorrow are aspects you are looking for in your next job context, this position might be something for you.
Our organization:
At Tuve Plant, we are not just building heavy-duty trucks—we are building products for the future of sustainable transportation! Using lean manufacturing principles, we are at the forefront of innovation, and exciting things are happening all around us. As we embrace industrialization and digitalization, we are pushing the boundaries to create greener, more efficient automotive products. Our internal flows and processes are evolving rapidly with automation and breakthrough technologies are at the heart of our transformation. If you are passionate about innovation and ready to be part of a dynamic, forward-thinking team, join us as we shape the future of manufacturing.
This is us, your new team:
We are a diverse logistics engineering team at the Tuve Plant, consisting of 20 engineers dedicated to both performance and transformation. We are responsible for maintaining and developing the internal material flows and supporting the masterplan and roadmap for the plant. We work closely with other local and global logistics departments, manufacturing engineers and project managers.
Main activities and responsibilities:
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting both operational and strategic logistics flows of the plant, ensuring efficient and optimized processes. You will play a key role in developing and refining internal and external logistics processes, leveraging lean manufacturing principles and engaging stakeholders by clearly explaining facts, requirements, and best practices. Additionally, you will communicate the need for industrial adaptations and support the development of new processes and technologies to enhance operational efficiency.
A significant aspect of this position will be contributing to the plant's automation strategy for internal logistics, identifying opportunities to improve processes and increase efficiency. You will need to combine theory and practice to see possibilities and limitations of existing and evolving technologies. Also consider how to responsibly apply these in various situations. You will also generate and participate in studies aimed at developing our working methods and standard procedures, driving continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Who are you?
We see you as a person with an analytical mindset with a strong interest in manufacturing and logistics development, a skilled problem solver with high ambitions of finding improvements and solutions to drive the plant forward. You can work independently and take your own initiative as well as collaborating with others in a cross-functional team. You enjoy having multiple tasks at hand simultaneously where you can act quickly and prioritize when needed. Jumping to conclusions is just a waste of time you think, but when you are certain, you jump directly into action. You work without prestige, based on facts, and have an easy time seeing situations from different perspectives. High-paced environments make you excited and you get energy from connecting with your colleagues during the day.
Socialization as well as communication are personal skills you possess and you enjoy building relationships with different types of people, seeing the value in teamwork, as well as taking your own initiatives and being able to work independently when needed. You are driven by constantly developing yourself and your surroundings.
Required knowledge/experience:
- BSc or MSc in engineering or equivalent.
- In this truly global program, communication will be in English, hence you need to be fluent in both speaking and writing in English. Proficiency in Swedish is a requirement for this position.
