About the role

As Senior Legal Counsel at Matsmart-Motatos, you’ll find yourself in the perfect intersection between law, business, tech and risk assessment. Are you ready for your next big challenge? Look no further - we are the perfect match!
We want you to join us in our mission to save more food while making sure we stay compliant and up to date with the market and new regulations. You’ll be responsible for all legal affairs across our markets and report to our CFO.

What you’ll do as Senior Legal Counsel

• Balance risk/rewards as the go-to person for compliance-related matters, across existing and potential future markets. This includes e.g. data privacy, consumer protection/legislation and food safety.
  
• Draft and negotiate larger contracts and support the organization with template agreements and self-service
  
• Oversee corporate governance topics, including shareholder communications, formal compliance matters, and decision documentation
  
• Act as our main point of contact with external law firms, interpreting and implementing their advice
  
• Be an active part in funding-related activities and lead legal due diligence processes
  
• Explore and assess new business opportunities and their regulatory landscapes
  
• Have the overall responsibility for data privacy and GDPR compliance
  
  

To be successful in this role, we believe you need

• A law degree from a Swedish university or a master’s degree in business and commercial law (sw: Affärsjuridisk masterexamen).
  
• At least five years of work experience in a law firm or similar in-house role, preferably at a global growth company
  
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in Swedish and English
  
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  
• Solid risk assessment skills, balancing off the company’s need for speed and commercial interests
  
• To independently stay up to date with relevant legislation
  
  

It’s a plus if you

• Have additional language skills, especially German
  
• Have experience advising or working within a company operating across the EU or in e-commerce
  
• Have previous experience with data privacy matters
  
• Have experience from handling corporate governance related matters, such as AGMs, SHAs etc.
