Position Overview:
Due to Kreditz’s continuous growth and ambitious expansion plans, we are seeking to bolster our Legal Team with a highly skilled and experienced Senior Legal Counsel & Business Compliance. We are in a dynamic phase of transitioning from a startup to a scale-up, rapidly expanding our market presence across the Nordic countries and Europe. Our diverse client base ranges from some of Europe’s largest banks and i Gaming companies to smaller innovative businesses.
As a Senior Legal Counsel & Business Compliance at Kreditz, you will have the unique opportunity to leverage your legal expertise in a business-driven environment. This role is ideal for a legal professional with a strong background in a law firm or financial institution who is looking to get closer to the business and take the next step in their career. You will be deeply involved in shaping and implementing legal strategies, focusing on regulatory compliance, data privacy, and mitigating legal risks.
Based in Sweden, Kreditz operates across Europe, so it is essential to have a multi-jurisdictional mindset. You will report to the Chief Legal Officer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Draft and review various legal documents to ensure alignment with legal and regulatory requirements, as well as company policies.

• Provide expert legal advice and support on matters related to privacy (GDPR), PSD2, and other relevant regulations.

• Monitor and analyze regulatory and legal developments, such as PSD3/PSR, FIDA, and DORA, and assist the business in adapting to new requirements.

• Drive change and continuous improvement within the internal framework and data protection areas, including the development and maintenance of governing documents and processes.

Candidate Requirements:

• Master’s degree in law (LL.M.) with a minimum of 5 years of practical experience in a law firm or corporate setting.

• Proven experience in handling legal matters related to the financial sector, privacy/GDPR, and regulatory compliance.

• Strong project management skills and the ability to drive change within the organization.

• Fluency in both written and spoken Swedish and English is required. Proficiency in other European languages is a plus.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

• High integrity, professionalism, and a strong interest in challenging the status quo through innovative solutions.
