Vattenfall’s Business Area Wind is responsible for the development, construction and operation of Vattenfall’s onshore and offshore wind farms as well as large-scale solar PV and batteries. Leveraging Vattenfall’s setup as an integrated utility, BA Wind proactively connects – in cooperation with other Business Areas – the supply of green electricity with customers and partners, and through that support and accelerate their own decarbonisation journey.
The Strategy & Market Intelligence department is responsible for shaping the overall strategic direction of BA Wind, proactively advising on relevant strategic topics to support decision makers – such as the BA Wind management team – in steering towards our purpose. Among other things, we identify market and business trends and derive strategic implications and required actions for BA Wind to advance our business models and market positioning. We now search for a senior strategy advisor, complementing our team.

Main tasks & responsibilities

• Shape the overall strategic direction for Business Area Wind in a growing, highly competitive and fast moving business environment; not only together with your strategy colleagues and counterparts in the Business Units (Offshore Wind, Onshore Wind, Solar & Batteries), but also in the context of a changing energy system that requires us to look beyond the single renewable asset towards end-to-end solutions.
  

• Identify market and industry trends relevant for our business; derive strategic consequences and required actions for Business Area Wind and the different Business Units.
  

• Originate, structure and lead strategic projects with potential stakeholders across BA Wind, the BUs, and Vattenfall group to advise management, shape and implement strategy and/or transform how we work.
  

• Use your network and build relationships with relevant experts inside and outside the company (e.g., with strategy consultants, at conferences and within industry associations).
  

• Effectively communicate the Business Area’s strategic objectives with different stakeholders, such as senior management, to drive our business forward.
  

About You
Our ideal candidate will have the following skills and experience:

• You have a university degree with a minimum of 5-8 years relevant work experience in an international environment, with a focus on the (European) energy industry, and in particular on renewables-related work content. You know the industry well and can identify and filter relevant trends, news and their implications on our business.
  

• You have proven skills in solving complex strategic issues and challenges – always seeing the big picture, daring to challenge and mapping a path to closure.
  

• You have experience in storytelling, influencing and structuring your deliverables – skills gained potentially through work in strategy teams and/or strategy consulting.
  

• You have the ability to establish trust and build relationships both within our organisation and with external stakeholders.
  

• Self-driven and pragmatic personality, performance-oriented with ability to prioritise.
  

• Cooperative with strong team building and interpersonal skills.
  

• Strong communicator with excellent command of English, both verbally and written.
  

Location Stockholm / Berlin / London / Amsterdam / Hamburg, willingness to travel.
