Senior Underwriter, Engineering Lines & Property
We are now seeking a dynamic and experienced Engineering Lines & Property Underwriter to join our underwriting team in Stockholm. This unique position combines two key roles within our organization. The successful candidate will divide their time between Engineering Lines and Property Underwriting and Business Development in our Middle Market segment, with specific responsibilities in each area to drive growth and expand our market presence.
About the role:
This role will focus on managing and underwriting Engineering Lines accounts, with a particular emphasis on construction facilities for the Swedish portfolio, as well as developing and enhancing the construction wording library. The successful candidate will also be involved in scaling opportunities for the Nordics and diversifying into the middle market segment. Additionally, they will be responsible for creating the business case for developing the annual open cover product for domestic business in Sweden.. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to business development, product enhancement, and market execution efforts.
Training and education are also key components of this role. You will be responsible for training and educating underwriters on best practices, underwriting wordings, guidelines, and industry trends. By fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development within the underwriting team, you will ensure that our team remains at the forefront of the industry.
Developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, brokers, and other stakeholders is crucial to this role. You will provide exceptional service and support to ensure client satisfaction and retention. Additionally, you will identify and pursue new business opportunities within Engineering Lines and property, particularly in the middle market segment. Collaborating with sales and marketing teams, you will develop and implement effective growth strategies.
Supporting efforts to diversify into the middle market segment is another key responsibility. You will develop tailored solutions and strategies to meet the unique needs of this segment. Furthermore, you will contribute to the development and enhancement of our product offerings for case underwriting and the combined insurance product.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience within Engineering Lines/Construction for larger commercial customers
- Extensive experience in the middle market segment and combined product offerings for construction and property
- Academic degree at university level in economics or engineering.
- Experience within not only CAR/EAR insurance but also Property insurance
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Swedish are required
- Extensive knowledge of the insurance industry and a good understanding of market dynamics, trends, and what is needed to drive growth in the middle market segment.

- Technical background and knowledge along the underwriting core processes
- Extensive knowledge of risk analysis and selection, risk exposures and quality of risk, pricing principles for new and renewal business
- Excellent negotiation skills and market facing, sales oriented
- Ability to deliver first class customer service
- Strong data processing skills and analytical skills
- Excellent presentation skills and a solutions and service orientation
- High level of risk- and business awareness
