Rail Execution Specialist

The Rail Execution Specialist plays a crucial role in our organization by successfully planning and executing rail movements of our products to our customers, from our suppliers and throughout our network. The team works closely with various internal teams, such as sales, supply & trading, refinery and refinery optimization as well as with external counterparties such as rail transport providers, customers, suppliers and terminals, to ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery.

Coordinate, plan and execute all rail transportation of all products to and from the VARO refineries and various tank terminals.

Coordinate with the local sales, supply and trading departments in Baar, Hamburg and Rotterdam to plan customer and delivery shipments by rail (block trains)

Ensure availability of all required documents, send train documents to relevant counterparties such as tank terminals and customers

Nominating trains to customers and loading stations

Enter loading and delivery quantities

Processing and coding of invoices

Administrative work
-
Education with min. 3 years of experience ideally in the transport sector

Three-year vocational training or adequate training
-
Detail-oriented with a conscientious approach to work and a strong sense of reliability.

Composed and thoughtful, even in challenging situations.
-
Quick to grasp new concepts, with a strategic mindset and strong planning and organizational skills.

Enjoys working in a dynamic setting.
-
Proficiency in German and English is required, and knowledge of French is an advantage.

Solid MS Office skills.
-
Previous experience in logistics administration.
-
Capable of working with precision under pressure and open to taking on new tasks.

Experience in supply chain management is an asset.
