WHAT YOU’LL DO:
Role:
An exciting and challenging position exists as a Thermal Mechanical Engineer at Cool IT’s office in Taipei, Taiwan. This position will be reporting to the Consumer Product Engineering Manager and will lead the innovative design and development of active cooling loops for cutting-edge desktop liquid cooling products.
Responsibilities:

• Innovative Design Leadership: Spearhead the design and development of desktop liquid cooling systems, focusing on factors like industrial design, embedded electronics assembly, pump, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, sensor placement, cable management, and manufacturability.

• Prototyping and Simulation: Engage in rapid prototyping using 3D printing, machining, hand tools, and advanced software simulations to validate and optimize design concepts.

• Collaborative Integration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, customers, contract manufacturers, and industry partners to ensure seamless product integration and successful project execution.

• Testing and Iteration: Oversee product fabrication and testing, conduct experiments, collect data, and refine designs to achieve optimal thermal and mechanical performance.

• Detailed Documentation: Create comprehensive engineering documentation, including detailed 2D drawings, 3D models, FMEA, DFM, and design review presentations to communicate design concepts, test results, and recommendations effectively.

WHO YOU ARE:
Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Material Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

• Proficiency in CAD and simulation software (e.g., Solid Works, Celsius EC, Macroflow) for detailed mechanical designs and performance optimization.

• Strong understanding of fluid/thermal dynamics principles and various manufacturing processes, including injection molding, machining, casting, coating, and printing.

• Experience with rapid prototyping techniques and testing of thermal/mechanical components, including familiarity with 3D printing, casting, and lab equipment for data collection.

• Proven ability to design components for mass production using diverse manufacturing methods and engineering principles (Statistical tolerance analysis, GD&T, DFMEA).

• Excellent soft skills such as patience, active listening, organization, communication, empathy, time management, and problem-solving.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, preferably in the consumer electronics industry, with a focus on mechanical design and hardware development; familiarity with PDP, NPI, PLM and PDM.

Skills:

• Exceptional organizational skills and strong attention to detail
• Demonstrated proficiency in multitasking and prioritizing tasks effectively
• Advanced communication skills in both English and Mandarin
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision and deliver results consistently
