Seeking an experienced middle school science teacher with a U.S. curriculum background, a teaching license, and ideally IB MYP experience. This role emphasizes a collaborative, student-centered approach, strong tech skills, and a commitment to DEIJ values.
An ideal candidate will have five years of teaching experience in US-curriculum programs and a secondary science teaching license. Tech confidence, a willingness to participate in the school’s ASA program, and a commitment to leadership in a student-centered school that is growing in its development of an exemplary IB framework. KAS offers the MYP programmes in the middle school, so IB experience is also preferable.

Preferred Qualifications include:

• A demonstrated ability to lead high levels of student learning.
• An aptitude for building and maintaining positive relationships with students, colleagues and parents.
• Experience in supporting inclusionary RTI practices, instructional coaching, PLC collaborative work.
• Experience with UDL unit planning, co-planning and co-teaching.
• Recent IB MYP training and current middle school teaching certification.
• Strong understanding and respect for a diversity of cultures and the needs of language learners.
• Has life experiences that demonstrate, among other things, a growth mindset, versatility, adaptability and resilience.
• Effective communication skills utilizing a variety of mediums and techniques.

Kaohsiung American School (KAS) is a private, not-for-profit day school established in 1989 for the children of expatriate families in Kaohsiung.
