Operating Systems QA Engineer

This role has been designed as ‘’Onsite’ with an expectation that you will primarily work from an HPE office.

Job Description:


Determines hardware compatibility, Configures the Test bed setup, performs OS Qualification and Certification testing on the NPI Servers and Sustaining OS releases. Completes the Log review and submission to the OS Vendors.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborates and communicates with internal Team/s to understand the QA requirements.
  
• Plans the Test bed setup and configuration as per the QA requirements.
  
• Performs OS Qualification and Certification testing on the defined configurations and Operating Systems.
  
• Participates in Team meetings to discuss on the progress, provides status updates and callout any impediments.
  
• Performs log review on the OS Qualification and OS Certification runs and update the JIRA user stories accordingly.
  
• Submits the successful logs in OS Vendors’ portal and drive for on time catalog listings.
  

Education and Experience Required:

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or equivalent.
  
• Typically, 2-4 years’ experience.
  
• Proven hands-on expertise and Proficiency in one of the Operating Systems (VMware, Windows, RHEL, SLES, Ubuntu, Oracle Linux and Citrix Xen Server).
  
• Good knowledge on one of the domains (Server, Storage, Networking).
  
• Good to have understanding and experience on Python scripting, Ansible and Jenkins that supports CI/CD and Framework design (BDD or Robogalaxy or similar).
  
• Hands on experience in configuring Server Test bed setups, Networking and Storage.
  
• Insight into OS Certifications (HLK, VMware VIVA/workbench, rhcert, SUSE Yes Cert kit) will be an added advantage.
  
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
