Overview
Synaptics is looking for a Principal RF/Analog Design Engineer to join our dynamic and growing RF/Analog design team in Taiwan. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate design engineer to join a successful, experienced team working on our next generation Wi Fi/BT connectivity chips. You will closely work with RF and Analog design experts to architect and design state of the art RF circuits in deep submicron processes. This position reports to the Director, RF/Analog Design.

Synaptics is looking for a Principal RF/Analog Design Engineer to join our dynamic and growing RF/Analog design team in Taiwan. This is a unique opportunity for a passionate design engineer to join a successful, experienced team working on our next generation Wi Fi/BT connectivity chips. You will closely work with RF and Analog design experts to architect and design state of the art RF circuits in deep submicron processes. This position reports to the Director, RF/Analog Design.
Responsibilities & Competencies
Job Duties
- Act as primary technical lead for the architecture and design of high performance, low power RF circuits
- Lead block design from specification to layout implementation then lab characterization
- Partner closely with system, layout, and lab engineers
- Help the team to deliver on time with the required quality level
- Excellent understanding of CMOS technologies and associated reliability issues
- Ability to communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly
- Ability to work with dynamic, geographically distributed teams, with the passion to become part of cross-functional teams
- Proactive, self-starter, able to work independently in a fast-paced environment to complete projects on time with minimal guidance
- Well organized with strong attention to detail; proactively ensures work is accurate
- Positive attitude and work ethic; unafraid to ask questions and explore new ideas
- Results oriented, creative problem solver able to solve complex problems through adapting existing technology and development of new technology
- Excellent analytical and documentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work within a diverse team and mentor developing team members
- Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent
- 15+ years of experience in RF IC design
- Demonstrated experience taking new product from concept to completion
- Proven experience designing deep sub-micron CMOS RF transmit chain circuits such as PA, PA driver, and Mixers
- Experience designing Internal RF T/R switch, Power detector, and RF calibration lookback circuits is a plus
- No travel required
