Job Description
We are looking for a self-motivated Staff Test Engineer based in Taipei, Taiwan. This position will be responsible for ensuring the testability and manufacturability of VCSELs from the device feasibility stage through production ramp. Develops and debugs complex software programs and EDA tools for process and test equipment. Make significant contributions to design, development and validation of testability as well as evaluation, debug of complex test methodologies.
Creates and applies concepts for optimizing mass production relative to both quality and cost constraints. Autonomously plans and schedules own daily tasks, develops solutions to problems utilizing formal education and judgment.
In this position you will:
- Develops and debugs complex software programs and EDA tools for process and test equipment
- Perform statistical data analysis and trouble shoot potential root causes for yield enhancement
- Work closely with process team to support new product introduction as well as transition from NPI to high-volume production environment on optoelectronic devices such as VCSEL, DFB laser, etc.
- Work closely with optical sub-assembly and module team to address testing/correlation issues at contract manufacturer and vendors that could be related to chip performance.
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience with test engineering or above
- Strong in developing of software tool for statistical data analysis (Oracle, SQL, JMP, Minitab)
- Experienced and fully understand Gauge R&R, test coverage and qualification
- Able to interpreting and analyzing testing result/data, correlating the test data with EPI, fab inline process for yield improvement.
- BS or MS degree in electrical engineering, information, or other relevant major.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with semiconductor wafer fab operations (Manufacturing Execution System, process & quality control, change management etc.) in a high-volume manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Experience in semiconductor lasers, like edge emitting laser, or Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser (VCSEL) related device design, process development and characterization is preferred
- Familiarity with photonics surmount, housing, semiconductor laser diodes, LEDs, photodetectors, driver ICs, and optical components (lenses, diffusers, DOEs).
- Strong communication skills; adept at hosting effective meetings and facilitating actions and resolving conflicts.
- Strong ability to drive actions and solutions through cross-functional teams.
