Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Corporate Affairs Advisor - Thailand and Vietnam located in either Bangkok, Thailand or Hanoi, Vietnam through September 13, 2024 at 11:59 p.m (TH time).
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Advocacy and Issues Management – Thailand and Vietnam

Responsible for advocacy strategies and actions keyed to building understanding and enlisting government and public support of company’s advocacy positions.

Prepares strategic plans and manages the advocacy efforts of Chevron on such issues as lower carbon or climate change related policies, environment, corporate responsibility, etc.

Responsible for developing and maintaining working and senior level relationships with the key government stakeholders and influencers including public officials, academe, non-government organizations, socio-civic groups and various professional/industry associations.

Represents Chevron in various industry-related engagements and advocacy efforts.

Monitors the external environment and keeps abreast of developments that could impact Chevron, trends and government regulations. Provides counsel to senior management on current and potential events in the external environment affecting the company.

Responsible for stewarding the OEMS Stakeholder Focus Area, Issues and Stakeholder Management Process for Thailand and Vietnam.

Acts as primary communication counsel for crisis response, and custodian of the local crisis communication processes and manuals.
Media and Internal Communications – Thailand and Vietnam

Responsible for initiating, building, sustaining and enhancing productive and harmonious relations with media to promote Chevron’s business and commercial interests. Media includes key members of print, television, radio, social media networks and key online influencers.

Responsible for developing and implementing media strategies and programs keyed to creating awareness, building understanding of, and generating support for Chevron, its products and services.

Serve as media spokesperson with local media outlets in Thailand and Vietnam.

Responsible for the development and implementation of internal communications and change management strategies and plans and ensure these align with corporate, and local business units.

Works well with colleagues locally and with the wider Corporate Affairs team to leverage and maximize resources.
Social Investment Community Program Development – Thailand and Vietnam

Develops and implements a social investment plan that reflects the objectives and values of the company. Ensures that all community engagement projects are aligned with business drivers and with Caltex and Chevron guidelines on community engagement, sponsorships, donations and the like.

Constantly monitors opportunities for social investment; periodically evaluates the impact of sponsorships to ensure optimization of cost and benefit; and to capitalize on goodwill they create.

Ensures that all community engagement programs and/or social marketing activities complement other marketing programs or initiatives of the company
Leadership

Serves as a key member of Chevron Thailand and Vietnam downstream extended leadership team.

Works closely with senior leadership to execute key business unit initiatives and projects as well as executive communications.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor's Degree
-
Minimum 15 years' relevant experience. Experience in energy industry and government affairs is an advantage.
-
Strong advocacy skills.
-
Excellent command of written and spoken English. Advance professional business language skills in Thai preferred.

Experience in managing complex regulatory and reputational issues.
-
Has strong stakeholder relations with the community and government.
-
High adaptability to provide strategic thinking and provide ground support for activity execution.
-
Strong organizational and event management skills. Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large-scale events and projects such as town hall and media launches.

Comfortable influencing and communicating across all levels of leadership.
-
Demonstrates an innovative, agile mindset and digital aptitude.

Outstanding people skills and the ability to build positive working relationships to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Demonstrates inclusive behaviors and respect for diversity.
