Accounts Receivable Accountant

Job Overview:
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing and processing incoming payments, verifying and recording transactions, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring that accounts are correctly billed. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The Accounts Receivable Specialist works closely with other finance team members to maintain accurate financial records.
Key Responsibilities:
Invoice Generation & Distribution: Prepare and send invoices to customers in a timely manner.
Payment Processing: Record and process incoming payments, ensuring all are applied accurately to the correct accounts.
Account Reconciliation: Regularly reconcile accounts receivable ledger to ensure all payments and receipts are accounted for and properly posted.
Customer Communication: Follow up on overdue invoices and manage communications with customers to facilitate timely payment. Address and resolve any billing discrepancies.
Reporting: Generate regular reports on accounts receivable status, including aging reports, and present to management.
Data Entry: Maintain accurate records of all transactions, including payments, credits, and adjustments.
Audit Compliance: Assist in audits by providing documentation and information as required.
Collaboration: Work closely with sales, customer service, and other departments to resolve any customer account issues.
Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounts receivable processes and implement improvements.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field preferred.
Experience: 2+ years of experience in accounts receivable or general accounting roles.
Skills:
- Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Quick Books, SAP, Oracle).
- Strong knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Certifications: Accounts Receivable certification (e.g., NACM) is a plus.
Attention to Detail: Accuracy in processing and recording financial transactions.
Customer Service: Ability to handle inquiries and follow up with customers professionally.
Problem-Solving: Capability to resolve discrepancies and billing issues.
Time Management: Efficiently prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data and generate reports to support decision-making.
Work Environment: Typical office environment; may require occasional overtime during peak periods.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: AED3,500.00 - AED4,000.00 per month
