What the role entails
As a Digital Fabrication Consultant, you will play a crucial role in providing expert advice, guidance, and support to our community of makers, creators, artists and enthusiasts. Your deep knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD), 3D printing, laser cutting and CNC routing will empower our members to explore their creativity and achieve exceptional results in their related projects.
Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Architecture, Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Previous experience in digital fabrication methods and processes such as 3D printing/additive manufacturing, laser cutting and CNC routing.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) and 3D modeling software.
• Strong understanding of computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) principles and experience with CAM software.
• Hands-on experience in additive manufacturing/3D printing processes such as FDM, SLA & SLS.
• Experience with 3D printing software for slicing and preparing models for 3D printing (e.g., Cura, Prusa Slicer, Idea Maker).
• Hands-on experience in subtractive manufacturing processes such as CNC milling.
• Ability to understand and modify G-code for CNC machines.
• Hands-on experience in laser cutting and engraving of various materials.
• Scripting skills for task automation and workflow enhancement using languages like Python and Java Script.
• Familiarity with version control systems like Git for managing and versioning design files and code is desired.
• Basic knowledge of electronics for projects involving embedded systems or Io T, including experience with Arduino, Raspberry Pi, and basic circuit design is desired.
• Knowledge in open-source hardware and software is desired.
• Knowledge of parametric design principles and experience with parametric design tools such as Grasshopper (for Rhino) is desired.
