The role
The Assistant Head of Secondary School - IBDP is a key leadership role dedicated to ensuring the successful delivery and growth of the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme within the school. This position oversees curriculum development, regulatory compliance, and student support, ensuring alignment with IB standards while fostering an inclusive and supportive environment for both students and staff. Leading the Sixth Form Heads of year and IBDP Core Team, the Assistant Head plays a pivotal role in promoting academic excellence, personal development, and student wellbeing across the Sixth Form, making certain that students are well-prepared for university and future pathways.
As a member of the Secondary School Leadership Team, the Assistant Head of Secondary School - IBDP also drives strategic initiatives, contributes to whole-school decision-making, and supports professional growth for faculty through professional development programs. This role liaises directly with the International Baccalaureate Organization (IBO) to stay abreast of developments in IB standards and practices. By collaborating with departments, parents, and students, the Assistant Head fosters a cohesive, supportive community and strengthens the visibility and understanding of the IBDP within the school. Selection Process
The closing date for application is Tuesday 3 December although we reserve the right to interview and make an appointment before the advertised closing date for the role. Therefore, an early application is recommended.

Applications should contain an application letter and full CV (including photograph, phone number, and contact details of 3 referees – one of whom is your current Head Teacher/Principal). A scanned copy of relevant degree certificates will also need to be provided.
First stage interviews will be conducted online in early November, and final interviews will take place either online or in-person on 25 & 26 November.
Start Date: Initial contracts are for two years with a start date of 1 August 2025
