Our three campuses, located in the heart of Thao Dien, Ho Chi Minh City, cater to students from 2 to 18 years of age. Split by age group, each purpose-built campus is home to state-of-the-art facilities, packed with interactive technology, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive.
The school is currently looking to recruit:
Primary EAL Teacher
At BIS HCMC, the Primary EAL Department is a team of specialist language teachers and TAs whose aim is to support children to develop the English skills they need to access the curriculum and all aspects of school life. We work with children from the pre-enrolment stage onwards, assessing and supporting children from beginner level English onwards across all Primary year groups. EAL support consists of small group sessions and in class support, and EAL teachers work closely with class teachers and Heads of Year to scaffold and differentiate the curriculum. Furthermore, we promote co-planning and teaching of language in the mainstream class to benefit all learners. Additionally, we also form part of the wider AEN department, working closely with our counterparts in the Learning Support Team to support as many children as possible. We also promote diversity and inclusion through our whole-school projects which celebrate the culture and home languages in our school community.Applications are invited from enthusiastic, qualified (PGCE, B.Ed or equivalent and relevant EAL teaching qualifications - see Job Description) and experienced teachers with experience of working as an EAL teacher supporting children that require English as an additional language. A minimum of two years teaching in a primary school is required or 2 years teaching in a language school. The EAL department at BIS offers intervention to children through a mixture of withdrawal and in class support across the Early Years and Primary years.
An interest in working with motivated and high achieving children from Reception to Year 6 is essential.

Our 2024 cohort of 102 IBDP graduates achieved an average score of 36.1 points, significantly higher than the global average of 30.3 points, with 28% of our students achieving 40 points or more and 1 student achieving a perfect score of 45.
Beyond academics, we have an exceptional enrichment programme with over 100 Co-Curricular activities and expeditions both in Vietnam and globally that help our students overcome challenges, build confidence, create lifelong memories and change to the communities around them.

FACILITIES All of the school campuses have excellent facilities: large libraries, music suites, indoor swimming pools and large sport halls.
STAFFING The vast majority of Teachers are full-time, British qualified and trained with relevant UK experience. All EYFS and primary teaching classes have English speaking Vietnamese teaching assistants, many of whom are qualified teachers.
CURRICULUM We provide a broad, balanced and differentiated curriculum to meet the wide ranging needs of our students.
Our school offers Early Years Foundation Stage (2 years) through to Year 13 (17 years). We operate within the framework of the National Curriculum for England which is adapted to meet the needs of the international community through the use of the International Primary Curriculum (IPC). The English National Curriculum is segmented into "Key Stages".
At Secondary level, our curriculum will prepare your child for both the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) examinations and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP).
Working within the structure of the British system allows us to make meaningful comparisons with UK national data, to have realistic expectations of what an individual child can achieve and to develop individual targets for improvement.
ACCREDITATION AND RECOGNITION The school is a fully accredited member of the Council of International Schools and is registered with the UK Department for Education as an Overseas School. It is a registered Centre for the UK examination board CIE and is also an IB World School, authorised to deliver the IB Diploma Programme. The school is a leading member of FOBISIA and has recently been rated as “outstanding in all categories” in a British Schools Overseas inspection.
