POSITION OBJECTIVE

In the role of Administration, Sales & Support Officer you will provide sound administration support to the
Works Section and efficiently and politely provide a high standard of customer service ensuring the needs
of Council’s Works Depot internal and external customers are met in a friendly, accurate and courteous
manner.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Demonstrated experience in a customer service role incorporating cash handling, invoicing and
administration duties including possession of essential licences and work permits.
  • High level of written and verbal communication skills including sales of materials, scheduling of
deliveries and the ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external
customers.
  • Sound level of administrative and computing ability incorporating Microsoft Suite of programs
and EFTPOS banking.
  • Sound knowledge of Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate into an existing team environment. High level of confidentiality
and ability to exercise discretion in a professional manner essential.
  • Possess the ability to work autonomously.
  • Be self-motivated with sound time management, problem solving and decision making abilities
and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • A sound level of skill in the use of windows based software including spreadsheets and word
processing, EFTPOS, banking, reconciliation of sales and accounts.
  • Basic knowledge of safety processes and procedures in mechanical and plant operative areas of
work and garden material types to address customer enquiries.
  • Knowledge of how to resource information for customer enquiries.
  • Certificate III Business Administration and or equivalent on the job experience (desirable).
  • Possession of a current White Card or willingness to obtain is essential.
  • Current “C” class manual Driver’s Licence or ability to acquire a licence prior to commencing in
the role is essential.



Position Outline – Administration, Sales and Support Officer



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for the following areas and includes but is not limited to:
  • Provide administrative support to the Manager Works and Operations, Team Leaders of Parks and
Gardens and Construction and Maintenance and the Batch Plant Coordinator.
  • Provide professional customer service support.
  • You are expected to be available to carry out reasonable overtime and participate in an on-call
roster.
  • You are required to follow any other lawful and reasonable directives provided by your Supervisor
or more senior officer.
Out-of-ordinary hours work may be required. Council reserves the right to change these duties at any time.
