Aquaculture Technician - Feed Truck Driver

About the job:
As a member of our Feed Team, you'll work collaboratively with other farming teams in a picturesque outdoor setting, tending to our saltwater ponds and ensuring our prawns have access to their vital feed.
Prior aquaculture experience is not required for this role. We value your transferable skills and offer on-the-job training and development opportunities. Contribute to the success of Tassal and make a positive impact on our sustainable seafood production.
There are both casual night shift roles (6pm - 6am) and casual day shift roles (6am - 6pm) available.

Nestled amidst the picturesque Whitsundays, our Proserpine Prawn Farm—Australia's largest of its kind—offers a unique opportunity. Located halfway between Airlie Beach and Bowen, this role provides a stunning backdrop for your daily commute.
What does your week look like?
Feed Preparation and Distribution: Fill feed trucks at shed, distribute feed to AQ1 feeders, and ensure optimal feed management.
Skill Utilisation: Build on your transferable hands-on skills to support prawn growth and development.

To be successful in this role however, the right candidate must be a self-motivated team player who has a passion for hands-on work and a commitment to safety, in-line with our Zero Harm culture.
Our successful applicant will:

Have a current manual driver’s licence and their own transport to get to site;
Have high risk licence (desirable);
Forklift licence (desireable);
Attention to detail;
Comfortable with technology and familiar with tablets and use of apps;
Be familiar with working on night shift;
Be reliable and committed to working the full prawn season with a ‘can do’ attitude;
Be physically fit with the ability to work in a hot, humid, and wet environment;
Work a 2/2/3 roster with fortnightly rotational weekend work!
